A Joyous Occasion!

Earlier this evening, my grandparents came over for a cookout. We all had a wonderful time and many hotdogs, hamburgers and chicken got devoured in the process.

A butterfly.....seed?

Well, summer has been moving along quite nicely and way too quickly for my liking! The other day I was out at my grandparents house and found a butterfly egg on a milkweed leaf. I was pretty excited since this is the first egg I've found this year. During the process of getting the egg home, it acquired a new name......a butterfly seed! Haha! Now, the "seed" has hatched and I have a very hungry caterpillar that is super tiny (about half the size of my pinky fingernail), but I can now see the yellow and black stripes on his back! I should definitely go find some milkweed posthaste! I'll try to post some pictures eventually.

Summer Pictures

This evening we went out to the airport to take Bill Beard up for his first plane ride. It was a wonderful night for flying. I hadn't been up since I've been home from school, so I was pretty excited. It was awesome to be flying again! Then after we came down to earth again, I got some summer pictures taken.

We also walked back to the gas well and took a few pictures back by the rocks along the side of the clearing. I'd wanted to get some pictures taken there for a good long time and I'm glad I finally did! ;0)

Needless to say, I'm glad it's summer!!
