What's in the air?

I would definitely say that spring is in the air! I love spring! This morning as I walked back to the dorm for a quick nap before Doctrine of Holiness, I took a nice long breath of fresh air, complete with a hint of the smell left over from the first mowing yesterday. To me it brought back wonderful memories from long ago. It smelled just like it used to when I'd go to Greenhill Farms on that one Saturday in spring, all suited up in giant barn boots and clothes that I didn't mind if they got muddy! I could smell the fresh air mixed with the first whiff of the tractors as they were started, while watching the warm sun chase away the coolness of the morning. Mmmm... maybe to you tractors aren't a nice smell, but to me they're great, because I would always get up really early and go with my dad to meet my grandpa over at his house! Then we'd get in his truck with the trailer behind and off we'd go in search of great wonderful new piece of machinery that was just longing to be bought and driven home! Despite the miles of mud, those are wonderful memories and yes, they do hit me sometimes at the oddest moments. Just like they did this morning as I walked from the cafeteria to the girls dorm, smack dab in the middle of a huge city with not a field (or a decent rusty tractor) to be found for miles! Who knows, maybe someday I'll be on down the road of life and come across something that reminds me of my days here at GBS. Until then, I'll do my best to cherish every moment I have here! :0)

Have a great day!

Banquet 2010

Well, this year, I was asked to the banquet by Lucas Ryder! I was very surprised and had a really, really awesome time! Before we went to the banquet, we drove to Eden Park with Ryan Watters and Charity Frazier and got some pictures. We were supposed to go to a bridge, but it started pouring rain and that idea didn't work out. Instead we went to a little gazebo where got some quick pictures.

I think this is my favorite picture! Ely did my hair and she did an awesome job! Thanks Ely!

The sky was really dark and cloudy, but it was a really cool background for a lot of our pictures.

Me, my dress and my pretty flowers!

Ryan and Charity are just so cute! She wanted us to make sure we got her shoes!

The happy little couple!

I love the sky in this picture.
This was actually right before it started pouring and it even hailed on Joe Hough's head!

The whole group. We hung out together all night and had a blast! While we were at the gazebo some other couples from GBS stopped by for pictures, so we cabbaged them and had them take some pictures of the whole group.

The girls (Charity, Ally, Kendra Tichenor, Abby Crissinger and I) ended up waiting in the gazebo while the guys ran to get the cars. We caught a quick, rain drop filled picture.

Lucas and I at the banquet. The food was delicious this year. They had salad, rolls, vegetables, red skin potatoes, a really delicious pasta dish and ham. Yummy! For dessert there was a fondue fountain with lots of dunking options! Mmmm! :0)

Janeane and Darrin.
Darrin is a twin from UBC that came along with Janeane. They were actually late to the banquet because they were in a wreck. They were ok, just a little shaken up. While they were on there way, they won a door prize, so hopefully that made them feel better!

Karlita, me, Ely, Emily and Leanna

Loren Albright and Heidi Newton
Heidi and Hannah sat across from Ely and I on choir tour and we had a really fun time! Loren's brother, Byron, got in the picture too with his head poking through the middle! Haha!

The Boys: Ryan and Lucas

The Girls: Charity and I
After the banquet, we all four went to starbucks and played Uno for a really long time. It was sooo fun! Then we all went over to Melissa Phelps house and had even more fun playing games at her house! The night ended after we found out that a person in the boy's dorm, who didn't go to the banquet, was racing snakes down the hall! See, lesson learned, everyone should always go to the banquet! :0)
Thanks everyone for a really fun evening! I had a blast! :0)
